On 12 February, an international plenary session will be held at the Polagra-Premiery Fair. A delegation of a few hundred young farmers from a couple of European Union countries, including Poland, will come to Poznań. It will be headed by Mr. Joris Baeke, the President of the European Council of Young Farmers (CEJA). Participants will have an opportunity to gain insight into the decision-making process at the European level and the nature of agricultural lobbying in Brussels. The EUROPEAN YOUNG FARMER'S DAY is a joint initiative of Międzynarodowe Targi Poznańskie, the Rural Youth Union and the Trade Union National Centre of Young Farmers. On that day, the youth will be symbolically presented with the keys to MTP and they will play the role of fair hosts.

An effective agricultural lobbying in Brussels is not a task only for the minister of agriculture, but to the same degree for us, agricultural organisations, trade unions or agricultural chambers. We want the European Young Farmer's Day to become a platform for sharing expertise and information, a platform for discussion and debate of young farmers on the future and development directions of the Common Agricultural Policy, also after 2013. We are convinced that owing to this initiative and similar ones we will be more professional in presenting the interest of the young generation from the Polish rural areas at the European forum. Join us! We will be happy to see you! |
